Fishing Regulations courtesy of Gulfshore Business Boating and Fishing Guide:
With certain exceptions, such as children and active-duty military personnel with orders, freshwater fisherman are required to carry either a Resident or Non-Resident Florida Freshwater Fishing License. The license is free to applicants older than 65.

Saltwater anglers fishing from a boat or those intending to possess a snook (a snook permit is also required) must carry a saltwater license. A notable exception applies to Florida residents who fish from such stationary locations as beaches, bridges or piers. Non-resident saltwater anglers must carry a license unless the are fishing from commercial piers or with a licensed captian charter captain who has already purchased a blanket permit.

In addition to enforcing licensing requirements, the state's Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) sets size and bag limits for most species of fish. To learn more, visit www.MyFwc.com
